Caleb Consulting cc. has created this privacy policy in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to the privacy of our visitors and subscribers. The www.islp.org.za website has been designed with information sharing in mind, and does not therefore require complex systems to track every click of a visitor's mouse. We do, however, collect some information about our users, and we would therefore prefer to be explicit about our information gathering and dissemination practices.

CONTENTS

INFORMATION COLLECTION AND USE
Caleb Consulting cc. is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We do not sell, share, or rent this information with others in ways different from what is disclosed in this policy. Information is collected from users at two main points on the website: subscription services and user feedback.

contents

REGISTRATION
Registration is only required if users want to take advantage of our subscription services. During registration a user is required to give a minimal amount of contact and demographic information (name, email address and country), which is sufficient to provide a user with the services for which they have subscribed. It is optional for the user to provide additional personal and organisational information, which we use to build a profile of our user base, allowing us to understand our market better and thereby improve what the website offers.

contents

COOKIES
A cookie is a piece of data sent from a website and stored on a user's hard drive containing information about the user. This website does not use cookies whatsoever.

contents

LOG FILES
When you submit information to us on any of our forms, the following information is automatically included in the submission:

  • browser type (e.g. Netscape, Internet Explorer, etc.)
  • IP address (a series of four numbers that uniquely identifies every computer on the Internet)
  • Date and time

We use this information to enable us to analyse trends and add more meaning to the information you submit to us.
We do not track visitors' movements through our site.

contents

SHARING INFORMATION WITH THIRD PARTIES
We do not share the information we collect in our website with any third party whatsoever.

If we do receive a request from a third party for access to our user base, we will first review the relevance of the request from the third party, and if we feel there might be value for our subscribers, we, and not the third party, will email you to enquire whether you would like to be solicited directly by the third party. Only our subscribers that express positive interest will be forwarded to the third party.

We reserve the right to use aggregated demographic information for website marketing purposes. This information is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person.

LINKS TO THIRD PARTY WEBSITES
This website contains links to other websites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other websites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our website and to read the privacy policies of each and every website that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy policy applies solely to information collected by this website.

VISITOR FEEDBACK
Our website home page contains a feedback form in which we solicit ratings and comments from our visitors regarding the content and design & operation of the website. Participation is completely voluntary. Optional information requested includes the visitor's name and email address. This information is useful because:

  • It enables us to communicate with the visitor regarding her rating and comments - we can clarify aspects of her feedback or request her to re-rate the site once we have attended to her comments.
  • It allows us to build a picture of a visitor's personal feedback over time. If a visitor is also a subscriber, we will make a connection using the email address, enabling us to better understand the feedback using the personal and organizational information that the visitor has provided us.
  • It allows a visitor to review her own feedback history.

contents

SECURITY
Because no sensitive information about our users (e.g. ID numbers; bank account details) is collected, we do not use any encryption technology when information is submitted to us. Information that is submitted is stored on a secure ISP (Internet Service Provider) server, and downloaded periodically to our offices, for analysis and action.

contents

SUPPLEMENTATION OF INFORMATION
We do not supplement the information we receive from you with information from third party sources.

contents

SITE AND SERVICE UPDATES
We might very occasionally (perhaps twice a year) send our subscribers site and service announcement updates. Subscribers are not able to un-subscribe from service announcements, which contain important information about the service.

contents

CORRECTION / UPDATING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
If a subscriber's personally identifiable information changes (e.g. email address or telephone number), or if a user no longer desires any of our services, a user can correct, update or remove their personal data provided to us by visiting the Profile Centre (accessible from every page within the website) or by emailing us.

contents

CHOICE / OPT-OUT
Users who no longer wish to subscribe to the services offered through our website may at any time opt-out of receiving these communications by utilising the unsubscribe option prominently displayed on the website, or by emailing us.

contents

NOTIFICATION OF CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes prominently on our home page so that our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under which circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an email. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
